Dead mold is not safe mold ….

Killing Mold Does Not Kill All Mold Spores

Frustrated homeowners dutifully clean and clean with bleach, thinking they are getting rid of the mold. Even if the bleach did kill the mold, it’s not safe because the mold may have created toxins to defend itself. This toxin is located on the mold spores and when the homeowner disturbs the mold in the cleaning process, he causes the spores and toxins to get airborne and settle in different areas of the room or throughout the house. These toxins cannot be neutralized; they must be removed.

There are one million to ten million mold spores per square inch of visible mold. These mold spores are invisible to the naked eye. An untrained person, attempting to remove the infestation, will release large amounts of mold spores into the air.

This is where a Certified Restoration Technician comes in … Proper containment, controlled airflow and specific mold remediation techniques, including personal protective equipment, are the only ways to safely remove toxic mold from your home. "I received a call from a homeowner who was in the process of selling his house. He was concerned about water damage in a bedroom closet. He opened the wall and found mold. When I got there, I found that the seller had removed all the moldy drywall in the closet, laid it in a pile, and had a fan blowing up at the exposed wood in the closet trying to dry it out."
